Artist Agreement

Version 1.0 · Effective October 21, 2026 · Between BeyondYou, LLC and you, the artist

This is an earlier version (v1.0). It applies only to releases accepted under it. New releases use the current agreement.

The short version

The full agreement below is what counts. If anything in this summary seems different from it, the full agreement applies.

1. Who this agreement is between

This agreement is between BeyondYou, LLC, which operates Beyond You Media, Beyond You Music and Beyond You Publishing ("we", "us"), and the person or group releasing music with us ("you", "the artist"). If you release music as a group, the person who accepts this agreement confirms they are authorized to accept it for everyone in the group.

2. What this agreement covers

This agreement covers each song you ask us to release and we approve (each a "Release"). For each Release it covers two things:

  1. The recording: the audio file of your song as delivered through our studio, including after its metadata cleanse (the "Recording").
  2. The song itself: the words and music written by you and any co-writers you list (the "Composition").

Each Release is added to this agreement when we approve your release request and assign it an ISRC code. Your release request (title, artist name, writers, splits and other details) becomes part of this agreement for that Release.

3. Ownership: you keep it all

You keep 100% ownership of every Recording and every Composition. Nothing in this agreement transfers ownership of your music, your name or your artwork to us. The rights we receive are permissions to do the work described below, and they end as described in section 11.

4. What you let us do

For each Release, for as long as this agreement lasts, you give us:

  1. The exclusive right to distribute the Recording to digital services, such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, TikTok, Instagram and others, directly or through distribution partners we choose. "Exclusive" means that while this agreement lasts, you will not deliver the same Recording to those services through anyone else. This avoids duplicate releases, which the services remove and which can split or block your royalties.
  2. The right to administer the Composition: to register it with performing rights organizations (such as ASCAP or BMI), with the Mechanical Licensing Collective (the MLC) and with similar organizations; to obtain an ISWC code for it if it doesn't have one; and to collect the royalties those organizations pay for it. If you already belong to a performing rights organization, you keep receiving your writer's share directly from them; we collect the shares that are paid to a publisher or administrator.
  3. The right to monetize the Recording on video and social platforms (for example YouTube's Content ID), and to send and answer claims about it there.
  4. The right to use your artist name, approved photos, artwork, song titles and short clips to release and promote the Release, including on our website, our store and our social accounts.

If you chose to be on The Algorithm radio, you also give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to play the Recording on our radio stations. You can turn this off at any time by telling us, and we will remove the song from rotation within 7 days.

5. Money: 95% to you

  1. Net receipts. "Net receipts" means the money we actually receive for your Recordings and Compositions from digital services, distribution partners, collection organizations and platforms, after any amount those parties keep before paying us.
  2. Your share. You receive 95% of net receipts. We keep 5%. We do not deduct anything else: no fees for distribution, ISRC codes, registration, artwork, statements or payouts.
  3. Splits. If your release request lists other writers or owners and their shares, you are responsible for paying them their part of your 95%, unless we have agreed in writing to pay them directly.
  4. Statements. Your Earnings page shows every amount we receive for your music, when, from where, and your share. You can review it at any time.

6. Getting paid

  1. We pay you monthly, once your balance reaches $50. A smaller balance carries over to the next month and is never lost.
  2. Payments are made through Stripe, our payment partner. You'll need to set up a payout account through Stripe, which keeps your bank details and tax information. We never see or store your bank details.
  3. Stores and collection organizations pay months after your music is played. This is normal in the music business, and we can only pay you after we receive the money.
  4. You are responsible for your own taxes. Stripe may ask for tax information (such as a W-9 or W-8) as required by law.
  5. If we receive money by mistake, or a store takes back money it already paid (for example because of fraudulent streams), we may subtract that amount from your future earnings.

7. Codes

We assign each Recording an ISRC code from our registrant prefix. That code belongs to that Recording permanently, and you may keep using it after this agreement ends. We also register an ISWC for each Composition that doesn't have one. A UPC barcode is assigned to each release when it is sent to the stores.

8. Your promises to us

For every Release, you promise that:

  1. You own or control all rights needed to release the Recording and the Composition, and to give us the rights in this agreement.
  2. The song is new and has never been released on any store or streaming service, as you confirmed in the studio.
  3. The Release doesn't copy or infringe anyone else's work, name, likeness, trademark or privacy. Any samples, beats or other material you didn't create are fully licensed or cleared for commercial release.
  4. The information in your release request (titles, artist names, writers, producers, splits and codes) is accurate and complete.
  5. You will not use, buy or encourage fake plays, bots or any other way of artificially increasing streams, and you will follow the rules of the services where your music is released.
  6. You are at least 18 years old, or a parent or guardian has accepted this agreement for you.

If any of these promises turns out to be untrue, you agree to cover the costs, damages and reasonable legal fees we face because of it ("indemnify" us), and we may take the Release down.

9. What we promise you

  1. We will deliver each approved Release to the stores and register it for collection with reasonable care.
  2. We will pay you your share as described in sections 5 and 6, and keep your Earnings page up to date.
  3. We will never sell, transfer or claim ownership of your music.
  4. We will not change your Recording's sound after you approve it, and we will not release anything without your approval.

We cannot promise any number of plays, sales or income. Stores and platforms make their own decisions about what they accept, recommend or remove.

10. Takedowns and claims

If a store, platform or rights holder questions a Release, we may pause or remove it while the question is resolved, and we'll tell you. If someone claims your Release infringes their rights, we'll ask you for information, and we may hold that Release's earnings until the claim is settled.

11. How long this lasts, and how to end it

  1. This agreement starts when you accept it and continues until either of us ends it.
  2. You can end it any time, for one Release or for all of them, by telling us in writing (email is fine). It ends 30 days later. We then remove your Recordings from the stores through our distribution partners and stop administering your Compositions. Stores usually remove a song within a few weeks.
  3. We can end it with 30 days' written notice, or right away if you break your promises in section 8.
  4. After it ends, we still pay you your 95% share of all money we receive for plays and uses that happened before the end, even if it arrives later. Sections 5, 6, 8 and 13 continue to apply to that money.

12. Your data

We use the information you give us only to release your music, collect and pay your royalties, and run our services, as described in our Privacy Policy. We share it only with the stores, distribution partners, collection organizations and payment partners needed to do that work.

13. Limits of responsibility

To the extent the law allows, neither of us is responsible to the other for indirect or lost-profit damages. Our total responsibility to you under this agreement is limited to the amount we owe you under section 5. This does not limit your right to be paid what you've earned.

14. General

  1. Changes. If we update this agreement, we'll tell you at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you don't agree, you can end the agreement under section 11 before the change applies to you.
  2. Notices. We send notices to the email on your account. You can reach us at hello@beyondyoumedia.com or by call or text at (570) 664-0561.
  3. Whole agreement. This agreement, your release requests and our Terms of Service are the whole agreement between us about your Releases. If they conflict, this agreement applies.
  4. Relationship. We are independent of each other. This agreement doesn't make either of us the other's employee, partner or agent.
  5. If part is invalid. If any part of this agreement can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
  6. Law. This agreement is governed by the laws of the state where BeyondYou, LLC is organized.
  7. Electronic acceptance. Accepting this agreement electronically, by checking the box and confirming your release in our studio, has the same effect as signing it on paper.
